David retired in 1993 after a extremely productive career. He was an Engineer, who also obtained his Ph.D. degree. He joined Johns Hopkins in the deparment of biomedical engineering.

David was known as the "Pope" of oculomotor modeling, and also known as the inventor of the scleral eye coil system, for recording eye movements.
